Bedwetting (child)

Enuresis

DEFINITION

Bedwetting (Enuresis) is a common childhood problem which usually runs in families. It is associated with such things as delayed maturation, bladder capacity, fear of the dark and the brain's inability to recognise a full bladder while asleep. In some children there is also a reduced production of anti-diuretic hormone at night.
